To avoid difficulties when receiving and opening your work, it is
very important that you follow the steps below when closing the file.
WORKS PERFORMED ON MACINTOSH
Illustrator
9.0 (or previous version)
Free
Hand 9.0 (or previous version)
For these programs, you must save texts, gradient
illustrations and others with EPS extensions or extensions native
to the program itself.
It is important to convert the texts into curves or to provide a complete
folder of the fonts used in the project.
Photoshop
6.0 (or previous versions)
All the images created or scanned in this program
must be saved in the extensions EPS or TIFF with a minimum resolution
of 300 dpi for the final format.
Quarkxpress 4.0 (or previous versions)
This program does not have compatible extensions.
The file must always be saved as native. The rule of fonts is applied
for this program.
COREL
DRAW 11 (or previous versions)
The only program that we use for receiving files on the PC platform
is Corel Draw. The simplicity of the program makes the sending of
files very viable, though some details should be taken into account
in their closing. Generation of smoke, lens-type effects and others
are not advisable in this program.
Images imported to Corel Draw must be made with appropriate resolution
and converted into *CMYK, the colors used in our processes.
In case the image comes in *RGB, they cannot be opened using Corel
Draw; they must go through an image program and then converted into
*CMYK, what might provide a non-expected result of the work.
* CMYK– Any printing process works with
four colors (C - cyan, M - Magenta, Y - I Yellow, P–black).
Starting from combinations of these colors, we are able to reproduce
nearly all the other colors that we see.
* RGB –The colors that we see on monitors follow the
RGB scale (Red, Green, Blue). The colors that we see in chromes are
in continuous tone. It is important to know that in both cases, these
colors cannot be reproduced in graphic processes; therefore, they
must be converted into CMYK.
In this case, the file will be returned, so that the customer carries
out the conversion in the program where it had been generated.
-
The files can be sent by CD, zip drive, diskette,
or e-mail, and must be done in CMYK or Pantone, always followed
by a test for reference of colors and job format. In case of a special
cut, it is worth it to remember that the drawing of the special
knife should be part of the files sent.
-
The fonts should always follow the files. If they
are typed in Photoshop, they will come with the drawing resolution,
which is not advisable, because they will lose definition in possible
enlargements. The most advisable is to type them in illustration
programs (Illustrator, Corel Draw, and Freehand), and convert them
into curves, once there are not desktop publishing jobs.
